That these things aren’t elaborately shaped slightly mathematical candies?

AS WE ALL KNOW, WE WOMEN CANNOT UNDERSTAND COMPLICATED THINGS LIKE DICE
ONLY MANLY MEN KNOW WHAT DICE ARE
In fact I do. I may have put them up before, but if not, stama is the word for “summer”, and alako means “chosen one”. The -k suffix is the same one that’s on the end of Datak. Deto is “love”, so detako is “one who is loved”. Alanu is a verb that means “to choose”, so alako is “one who is chosen” or “one who has been chosen”. That suffix -k is attached to the one affected by the action of the verb. When the verb has a subject and object (as with these two), it refers to the object. When the verb has only one actor (a subject), the -k refers to the subject. Thus with a verb like wokyulu, “to sleep”, wokyuko means “sleeper”.
Oh, and, incidentally, no word will ever end with a consonant in standard Castithan. In another language like English, though, Castithan words tend to have their endings dropped, unless the word would be too short otherwise. Thus a lot of names just use the stem—for example, detak-, alak- and stama-. In Castithan, they’ll naturally acquire endings when used in a sentence, but English, of course, doesn’t have the same rules, so the stems tend to get borrowed or used more often (either that, or the -o/-u vocative form).
got stuck in awkward conversation with talkative coworker

I have a hard time taking the people in the Defiance fandom seriously if they don’t play the game AND watch the show.
I have a hard time taking anyone seriously who tries to dictate who they consider a “true fan” of anything.
